 Grant Phillips Elected to MYB Council 

Phillips to serve on Mississippi Young Bankers Council

 

DeSoto County banker Grant Phillips has been elected to the Executive Council of the Mississippi Young Bankers, a section of the Mississippi Bankers Association.


Since 1950, Mississippi Young Bankers has been active in providing leadership development activities, supporting financial literacy programs of the MBA and its member banks. MYB members are involved in administering scholarship programs for high school and college students, supporting the MBA Education Foundation, and advocating policy positions important to a strong banking industry.


Phillips serves as the Senior Relationship Banker specializing in commercial and small business loans for Citizens National Bank of Meridian in DeSoto County, where he has been for six years. Phillips started his career in banking in 2013 as a management trainee serving in multiple roles before joining his current bank. He graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree from Mississippi College in 2013 and completed his MBA in Finance at Mississippi College in 2019. He is also a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking.


Phillips has been actively involved with the MYB, having participated in multiple MYB annual conventions, MYB leadership conventions, and the “A Banker in Every Classroom” program since 2014.  He is also a current participant in the MYB Foundations of Leadership Class of 2025.


Active in his community, Phillips attends Christ Presbyterian Church (PCA) of Olive Branch and serves as a Deacon and Treasurer. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Southaven Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Budget and Finance Committee and the West End Redevelopment Committee. Phillips serves on the Board of Directors for the House of Grace, and has volunteered in various capacities with Northpoint Christian School through the years including serving as volunteer coach, calling basketball games for live stream, and volunteering for financial literacy projects, career fairs, alumni boards, and more.


Phillips and his wife Amy have two children, Fischer and Henry.
