Joseph Moss Elected to Mississippi Bankers Association Board of Directors

 JACKSON – Joseph Moss of Brandon has been elected to a 3-year term on the Mississippi 
Bankers Association Board of Directors.
Moss will represent his region of the state on the Board, which governs the 135-year-old 
association. MBA’s membership includes commercial banks and savings institutions operating in 
Mississippi, and the association's members hold over 95 percent of bank deposits in the state.
Moss serves Cadence Bank as Southeast Region President and has been with Cadence for 20 years. 
Moss began his banking career with Deposit Guaranty (later AmSouth) in 1994, and continued there 
until 2003 when he joined Cadence, then still operating as BancorpSouth. Prior to banking, and during 
part of his banking career, Moss served in the 172nd MS Air National Guard from 1986-2013, retiring as 
Command Chief Master Sergeant. 
Moss earned his degree in accounting from Mississippi State University. 
 Moss has been involved with the MBA for several years, and in addition to his new role on the Board 
of Directors, he is also actively involved in his community. He has served as a board member for the 
Mississippi Economic Council, Greater Jackson Partnership, Community Foundation of Mississippi, 
United Way, Downtown Jackson Partners, Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, Salvation Army, and Rankin 
County Chamber of Commerce.
 Moss resides in Brandon with his wife Ashley, with whom he shares two daughters.
