The Mississippi Banker - September/October 2007 Chamblee named MYB County Chairman of the Year
The award was created by MYB to recognize outstanding county chairmen, who are local ambassadors for MYB, promoting financial literacy. As Itawamba County Chairman, Chamblee was personally responsible for making bank-related presentations to more than 33 percent of the population of 22,000 in his county, and that was in the 2006-07 school year alone. In nominating Chamblee, his local MYB Council member, Buffie Butler of Pontotoc, said, "His willingness to serve as a county chairman for many years with such a wonderful attitude has not gone unnoticed. He is very involved in his community and the local school system. He is committed to reaching out and educating students on banking issues, and is one that I can always depend on." At the Leadership Conference luncheon, Chamblee was presented with his award by Pax Mogenson, MYB treasurer.
