Fourth Annual 'A Banker in Every Classroom'
The Mississippi Bankers Association (MBA) recently sponsored it's fourth annual “A Banker in Every Classroom” week, and it was a HUGE success! Governor Phil Bryant proclaimed the week of November 3-7, 2014, as "A Banker in Every Classroom" week. This year, a record number of classroom presentations were made throughout Mississippi by bankers.
470 Presentations were made with more presentations still planned for the remainder of the year!
This program brings together bankers and teachers at the local level to present personal financial lessons to students in public and private school classrooms throughout Mississippi. Bankers register with the MBA to volunteer to appear in a classroom in their area. At the same time, teachers throughout the state register, making requests for local bankers to appear in their classrooms. The MBA then matches bankers and teachers and provide age-appropriate materials on personal finance topics.
During the "A Banker in Every Classroom" week, several media outlets covered the MBA sponsored project and spoke with bankers involved. Please click on the following links to view the press on "A Banker in Every Classroom"
